Advisory board

BIOMODTM has been developed by biomechanical engineers and has been submitted to and tested by our advisory board, composed of spine surgeons, rehabilitation physicians and radiologists.

Council composition as follow :

Dr Georges de Korvin – specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – Rennes Group of the Locomoter System – Saint-Gregoire Private Hospital – Rennes, France.
Dr. Georges de Korvin works with two surgeons specializing in the spine and has provided, since 1986, medico-technical consulting in the area of equipment dealing with deformations of the spine in all stages of life. BIOMODTM is currently employed in his clinical situations since September 2008 as a means to space out the requests for radiological tests of scoliosis in periods of growth. He had a role in rendering the software at hand user-friendly. In addition, He presides over the Qualité des Soins de la Section MPR de l'Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes (the Quality of Treatment in the Section of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the European Union of Specialists Doctors) in partnership with the SYFMER (The Union of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of France) and the SOFMER (The Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of France).
Dr. Catherine Marty – Rheumatologic Services, Scoliosis Rehabilitation – Public Assistance Paris Hospitals Raymond Poincaré (APHP)– Garches, France.
Doctor Catherine Marty, doctor of functional rehabilitation, in the Raymond Poincaré Hospital is the author of works on the theme of scoliosis and pelvic parameters. Notably, she has collaborated with Dr. Duval Beaupère and Pr. J Legaye. Doctor Marty is also the co-organizer of the “Spinal Group” conference in Western Paris.

Dr. Ginette Duval Beaupère – APHP Raymond Poincaré – Garches, France.
The work of Dr. Duval Beaupère on sagittal balance as well as on the progression of scoliosis have enjoyed international notoriety thanks to their relevant contributions to the comprehension of spinal deformation diseases. She has written and published several works on the subject.

Pr. Jean Legaye – Orthopaedic and trauma surgery – University Clinics of Mont Godinne :
Pr. Legaye is head of orthopedics and traumatology surgery of Mont-Godinne, located near Namur, Belgium. He is the author of several pertinent works on sagittal balance of the spine (with Duval Beapuère, 2004 and 2005), on the pelvis (Duval Beapuère G., Hecquet J., Marty C., 1998) ; and others on the access to three-dimensional measurements (Hecquet J., Duval Beaupere G., 1998).

Pr. Jean-Marc Vital – Orthopaedic and trauma surgery – CHU Bordeaux :
Pr. Jean-Marc Vital is head of orthopedic surgical services at Hospital Pellegrin in Bordeaux. He was president of the "Groupe d’Etudes sur la Scoliose" (GES - Study Group of Scoliosis) and carried out major clinical tests on scoliosis and the three dimensional approach to deformation pathologies. His tendency towards innovation for therapeutic inpatient care allowed us considerable advances in our research..

Pr. Jean-Charles Le Huec – Spine surgery unit – CHU Bordeaux :
Pr. Jean-Charles has an international reputation. His work on spinal disc prosthetics are known world-wide and allowed for considerable breakthroughs in the treatment of vertebral discopathy. M. le Huec played an instrumental role in the scientific and clinical certification of BIOMOD-3STM, allowing us to carry out the necessary tests of evaluation of the accuracy and precision of the software.

Pr. F. Diard &Pr. O. Hauger – Radiology and medical imaging service – CHU Bordeaux :The importance of radiological services in the development of BIOMODTM can not be over-stated. The imaging technologies, input data for 3D representation, are largely the result of radiological technology.

Pr. C. Vallée & Dr. Robert Carlier – Radiology and medical imaging service – Raymond Poincaré hospital in GARCHES :
The radiological services at the Hospital Raymond Poincaré are expert in the diagnosis of debilitating pathologies. The expertise that they bring is a strong force of the development of BIOMOD-3STM. What’s more, the involvement of radiological operators is substantial, as was witnessed at the JFR 2007 conference on the role of radiological operators. Dr Carlier is also the co-organizer of the “Spinal Group” conference in western Paris.

Pr. Christian Garreau de Loubresse – Orthopaedic surgery – Raymond Poincaré hospital in GARCHES :
Pr Garreau de Loubresse is an orthopedic surgeon in the APHP Raymond Poincaré Hospital in Garches, but also at the Ambroise Paré de Boulogne-Billancourt Hospital. Beside his clinical activities, he is secretary general of the SOFCOT (the French Society of Orthopedic and Trama Surgery) et co-organiser of the “Spinal Group” conference in western Paris.

Dr. Mathieu De Seze & Dr. Benoit Lavignolle – Rehabilitation service – CHU Bordeaux :
These two doctors provided invaluable contributions to the clinical use of the surface of the back, and developed relevant parameters of posture used in clinical routines. Their clinical approach to pathologies allowed BIOMODTM to exploit methods other than surgery in the treatment of spinal pathologies.
